The Promotion of Social and Labour Integration Companies

Project aims

The CIBUS5 subproject aims at increasing public and private sector understanding and knowledge of social enterprise and to provide the sector with some of the support infrastructure and mechanisms it needs to thrive.

At the same time, applying the use of ICT for opportunities to exchange good practices, creating and interacting existing networks, exchanging methodologies, dissemination, et cera.

Activities and expected outcomes

The expected outcomes are:

- A map of the social enterprise sector in the three partner regions
- A Local Expert Group (LEG) in each of the three areas and support networks
- A system to measure Social Impact Measurement
- Study on gender impact in social enterprise
- Commissioning and procurement policies that understand social enterprises and their added value
- Increased awareness and knowledge of social enterprise from private and public sector
- Exchange of best practice/learning that helps the sector

CIBUS5, which stands for the Promotion of Social and Labour Integration Companies, is aimed at social entreprises particularly, although not uniquely, those that promote employment and social inclusion amongst hard to reach groups

The CIBUS5 sub-project held its Kick-off Meeting on the 25th of February in Seville.
The meeting was organised by the Andalusia Foundation for Social Integration and Assistance with the collaboration of the Andalusia Foundation Red Andalucía Emprende, the Employment Agency Södermaln of the Stockholm region and the West Sussex County Council of the South East England region.
The 2nd transnational meeting for the sub-project partners was undertaken on the 7th October 2010 at Chichester, West Sussex, UK. Partners updated on their activity for the period and future aims for the CIBUS5 project were discussed.
The next CIBUS5 sub-project meeting is taking place in Stockholm, Sweden and will look to further update on partners progress and findings.

The 2010 annual Social Firms UK conference took place in July at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge.
CIBUS5 - Transnational meeting
The CIBUS5 sub-project partners met for the 2nd transnational meeting on 7th October in Chichester, West Sussex. The meeting included a study visit to a local social enterprise along with detailed updates on Partner projects and developments.
