Two representative External Experts from the UK (South East Region) recently attended the PEOPLE Programme Study Visit in Timisoara, Romania on 28-29 June 2011.

The Study Visit provided an opportunity for our Romanian Partners to showcase emerging results arising from their work on sub-objectives as well as to visit some new facilities where the work had been carried out.

Tcares Whitley Village Workshop summary

The TCARES partnership comprising of South East Health Technologies Alliance (SEHTA) in the UK, the John Paul II hospital (Poland), the Fundación Andaluza de Servicios Sociales (Spain), Zorgcentra Pantein (The Netherlands) and Timis County Council (Romania) went to Whiteley Care Village in Surrey, the oldest Care Village in the UK on 16 June to hear about the promising results of the UK Telecare pilot.

Feedback from 'Getting Business Ready for an Ageing Society' Workshop

UK Policy experts attended this workshop in February 2011. The theme of this workshop was ‘getting business ready for an ageing society’. It was held against the backdrop of workforce ageing, the UK’s Government’s decision to phase out the Default Retirement Age (DRA) and a broad devolution of power from national to local levels. Our goals for the day were:
1. To support policy development and implementation at the national level through exploration of largely EU funded, practice based activity at the local level.
2. To explore the implications of putting emerging national policy into practice through activity at local levels led by local enterprise partnerships and other local leadership structures.

Andalusia Local Experts Groups Exchange Andalusia Local Experts Groups Exchange

Andalusia Local Experts Groups met in Antequera on the 26th May 2011 with the aim of sharing their experience and work developed in HOME 04 project. Nearly 70 professionals from the social services and mental health sectors, both from public and private institutions, had the opportunity to exchange different views in 4 discussion groups. The themes discussed are the main focus of the HOME 04 project: Women and Homelessness Mental Health and Homelessness ICTs as a tool for normalization and social integration ICTs as a tool for networking.

CIBUS5 Study Visit and Steering Committee Meeting in Stockholm

Last CIBUS5 Study Visit and Steering Committee Meeting took place in Stockholm on the 24-25 March.
Following their participation in PEOPLE International Conference in Krakow, CIBUS5 partners gathered in Stockholm in order to review the results and products that are coming out of the project.
They also participated in a Study Visit where professionals could discuss about the Social entrepreneurship sector, its future challenges and its success factors.

After the 4th International PEOPLE conference “Social Entrepreneurship – it pays off!”, with a number of useful theoretical reflections and inspiring voices of practitioners, the participants had the opportunity to get the taste of it by visiting some real-life examples of social enterprises working in Malopolska. Two sites were in Cracow and one in the rural community of Wieprz, where the guests were taken by coach through windy Malopolska roads!

The 4th International PEOPLE Conference on 9th March in Cracow was hosted by the Malopolska Region and was entirely dedicated to PEOPLE’s sub-objective 5 - Social Entrepreneurship.
The event provided an in-depth view of conditions, needs and barriers of social entrepreneurship in the partner regions. A number of interesting theoretical reflections were coupled with voices of practitioners, which altogether provided a comprehensive picture of the issue.

On February 3rd and 4th, the Lead Partner attended the 4th EU Interregional Cooperation Forum in Budapest. In general, this event offered participants an opportunity to get all the information about the last open call for projects, to attend workshops addressing specific issues that projects can face – and overcome, to network and search for partners interested in the same issues and to discover the advances made by INTERREG IVC projects in the fields of Innovation and Environment.

HOME 04 Sub-project held its 2nd Study Visit and 3rd Steering Committee in Venice last 20th-21st October 2010.
The objectives of this meeting were, first of all, to monitor and do a follow up of the project development, including outomes, intermediate results and financial situation.
On the other hand, the aim of the visit was to get to know better the different resources and services that the City of Venice has put in place for homeless people.

Last October the 7th, the 2nd Steering Committee and Study Visit of CIBUS5 took place in Chichester, UK.
West Sussex County Council welcomed the three partners of the sub-project in the city of chichester.
The purpose of this transnational meeting was to do a joint exercise of project monitoring in terms of results attained, developments, success indicators, future activities and financial situation.
Secondly, partners had the opportunity to visit an important Social Enterprise of West Sussex area, Aldingbourne Trust, in order to know and discuss among professionals the most relevant features of the above-mentioned enterprise.

“Home04” to hold news conference to launch Info Point in Venice

The PEOPLE “Home04” sub-project will held a news conference in Venice on 11th of May 2010.

The news conference will introduce the sub-project and in particular the start up of the Info Point inside the homeless centre in Mestre, which will familiarise and train the hosts with the use of web tools.
