News > Noord-Brabant PEOPLE conference provides digital food for thought
The PEOPLE International Conference on digital inclusion held in Noord-Brabant last week was a resounding success with regions discussing common issues and offering innovative solutions to digital exclusion and inclusion.

The Noord-Brabant partner lead by example on the digital inclusion theme by employing many of the PEOPLE web tools to organise, execute and follow-up on the conference.
Edwin Mermans, the Dutch Regional Correspondent for PEOPLE, said the use of Twitter and a video stream to broadcast the conference allowed those participants who were not able to attend in person to still be able to engage actively in the conference.
He also cited the use of the PEOPLE Policy forum to prepare for the event and the LinkedIn networking tool to keep in touch after the event as effective ways of ensuring an event enjoyed a longer legacy, a principle that the PEOPLE Partnership hope to emulate with all of its projects and the programme as a whole.
The well-planned and polished delivery of the conference resulted in the PEOPLE use of social media in events being highlighted as a case study in communication and dissimation for INTERREG IVC projects at a recent communciations seminar in Berlin.
