Welcome to the third PEOPLE newsletter bringing you updates on many of the activities and events that have been taking place across the Regions over the last few months.

With a focus on Social Entrepreneurship, this issue brings you updates from the SO5 theme including the recent conference and study visit, a spotlight on the CIBUS5 sub-project and a look at one of the SO5 Best Practices. In addition, you can learn about the UK’s ‘Big Society’, read about social innovation and find out how the PEOPLE programme was presented at an EU Forum in Budapest. Plus get the latest update on the upcoming PEOPLE International Conference in Venice.

In this issue we focus on the SO5 Theme of Social Entrepreneurship, with feedback on the successes of the 4th International Conference and Study Visit held in the Malopolska region of Krakow. We take a look at one of the SO5 Best Practices, the Hampshire School for Social Entrepreneurs, we provide a spotlight update on the sub-project CIBUS5, as well as highlighting some of the new SO5 content on the PEOPLE website and communications tools.

News from across the Regions includes a thought provoking review of the London based conference ‘Social Reform in the UK: Building the Big Society', from our UK Regional Partner in the South East of England. An interesting report is provided on social innovation and the use and impact of social media from our Regional Partner in Noord-Brabant, in the Netherlands. Plus feedback from our Regional Partners in Malopolska, Poland, who recently presented on the PEOPLE Programme at the 4th EU Interregional Cooperation Forum in Budapest.

In addition, find out more about the PEOPLE 5th International Conference and Study Visit taking place in Venice on the 8th and 9th June. This will be a fantastic opportunity for continued networking and exchange of best practice and experience - we hope you will all enjoy this exciting event!
