The Silver Academy will be holding an International Conference in Krakow on the 7th September 2011. This event will bring together policy makers and academics in Poland to disseminate the results of Silver Academy sub-project.

The SO3 Sub-project ‘Silver Academy' has been delivering pilot programmes providing free expert support to unemployed people over 50 starting their own business. The Academy has had a significant impact in promoting new enterprise and supporting entrepreneurs in the South East of England and Krakow in Poland.

The Silver Academy will be holding an International Conference in Krakow on the 7th September 2011. This event will bring together policy makers and academics in Poland to disseminate the results of Silver Academy sub-project.

The Conference agenda will include:

· Overview of the Silver Academy programme, detail on the UK interventions, key outcomes and policy implications

· Key outcomes and policy implications of the Polish programme

· Key outcomes and policy implications of the Spanish programme

· Key research outcomes so far

There will also be a Silver Academy Steering Group meeting during the visit to Krakow which will be held on the 6th September. Following the event, a member of the UK Silver Academy research team will be visiting Krakow to carry out interviews with Polish Silver Academy Delegates as part of the evaluation of the programme.
